When the opportunity came up for us to spend the weekend in the Palm Desert again we just couldn’t say no ! That weekend turned out to be the one of the busiest weekends in Palm Springs, which is Coachella. Coachella is a music festival that happens once a year in the Coachella Valley, just outside of Palm Springs. LA flocks to the desert to dance to some of the favorite bands. This was on my bucket list and I was stoked to go. Knowing that I am no longer in my late 20’s prime, I thought it was best to avoid the chaos of the desert and stick to the sophistication that is the Palm Springs party scene. I helped set up an amazing line up of parties that even featured live performances from some of our favorite singers (Which meant we officially did Coachella Music Festival right?) We started our weekend staying at our favorite Palm Springs Hotel, The Saguaro. The splashes of desert rainbow colors in our luxury suite set the mood for our weekend. We started off our trip with some poolside fun and a nap, because yes I am old. We were invited to the Nylon Party that didn’t start until midnight~ (that is just crazy.) I went to bed at 6 pm for a nap and was ready to go at 10pm when I woke up. (True confession- I had to drink a red bull to rally) We spent our evening among the coolest Millennials in the industry (I am actually a Millennial) and was home and in bed at 2:30 am !
Nothing was getting me out of bed the next morning. I enjoyed sleeping in without a child jumping on me a few hours after falling asleep and going poolside for coffee. We visited entertainment industry parties in the early afternoon including PopSugar where we watched Daya perform and Lucky Brand where we saw Noah Cyrus perform and by early evening we were done. We decided that trekking into the desert definitely wasn’t for us so we opted to go to a nice steak dinner and enjoy a bottle of wine. We cuddled in bed that night and watched a movie! The next morning was Easter and in true Ziering form we skipped out on the rest of the events, hopped in the Minivan and headed home to spend the rest of the day with the our little girls.
I have to say, Coachella was a lot of fun. Mingling, cocktails and live concerts were amazing but the best part was just being with my husband. We have been focusing on reconnecting as a couple and not just parents. This took us back to dating and fun and remembering that we are not only mom and dad to each other.
