Creating and capturing memories are very important to me. I had an amazing mother who documented and kept everything that may be special to us. She never missed a section in my baby book. She kept all the incredible art work for 30 years. She kept my first Christmas dress, first Halloween costume and the first dress she made for me. Every photo from my childhood was placed perfectly in a scrapbook. She is an amazing woman.
I want to make sure I do they same for my daughters. There are some amazing companies who make this a lot easier for you than what my mother had in the 80’s.
Chatbooks is my new favorite app. It captures my Instagram hashtag #zieringgirls and puts all the pictures in a book for me. It is so easy. All I had to do was download the app and set my preferences. My books arrive in the mail and the cost is very low.
Shutterfly App- I print our photos from the shutterfly photo app. It is so quick and easy. It pulls the pictures right from my phone and always me to order them anytime. It also send me great deals for discounts.
-Saving Art Work-
Artkive- This app offers an easy way to archive your children’s artwork. It helps keep everything organized and it also allows you to turn their paintings and drawings into books and other keepsakes!
Art portfolio- for those important pieces of art that you just cant part with. There are always 5 -10 pieces a year that I find magical. I can save them in this great portfolio that gives me room until high school!
– Keeping your thoughts-
My Prudent Advice- a journal of my life and thoughts and recommendations. I recently had a few health complications and the first thing I thought of as a mother is what will they know of me? I never even kept a journal. This book helps me organize all the important parts of my life and my very prudent advice for my children.
School day books. Each year of school, friends and favorites captured. You can treasure school-day memories forever! The album’s pages are actually pouches that hold photos, report cards and more…with space to record yearly statistics, goals and activities—from preschool through high school. It even has your child’s name on the cover! I have already started both of the girls books. It is like a baby book that continues through life.
I hope some of these ideas have inspired you to keep your children’s memories organized! I hope in the near future to start scrapbooking, but for now these easy to use options are my favorite!
With love, Erin
