Did you know that only 8% of people are successful in achieving their resolutions? Even worse 49% of people have infrequent success. That means, in some way, life gets in the way. I really don’t want to be one of those people.
Last year my New Years Resolution had to do with only surrounding myself with people that had a positive influence on my family. I spent a lot of time over the years inviting people over and having events and noticed that many of those people were not equally involved in the friendship. I wanted to make sure that if I was putting time into a relationship and away from my family that it was ultimately good for our family. I feel like throughout the year I had to remind myself of this resolution and I was able to stick with it. My passion this year has definitely been about our family unit.
Over this year, I have created this blog and focused on my Instagram account. I am very proud of the brand I have built. This year I realized that I couldn’t make just one resolution, that it had to be a plan. It had to be a list of intentions for the year. The way I wanted to see the brand grow, the way I want to see myself grow and the way I want to see our family grow. For the blog and myself I made a business plan for the next 6 months! I realized in lifestyle blogging, life can definitely get in the way and I didn’t want to feel defeated when things didn’t happen. Instead I made a list of goals and plans and will sit back down in May to create a plan for the end of the year.
For myself, this year I want to focus on Health and Wellness. As you may have followed my health journey here on the blog. Having been diagnosed with 12 tumors was not easy to swallow. I actually felt defeated in the wellness space. Before the diagnoses I was eating only organic, using natural products and juicing. I was also doing yoga daily, meditating, using acupuncture and walking daily with the family. I was frustrated after the diagnose and didn’t stick to the same health plan. I stopped focusing on it and definitely let these things go. My main resolution for this year is to definitely get back to the “old” me. I had a passion for reading labels, using my oils and planning healthy organic meals for the family. Focusing on my health with ultimately benefit everyone in my home. My husband will eat better and my children will have healthier rule models.
So, in conclusion I guess this post was more for me than you. If I put it out there into the world then I am responsible to do it. If you want to put yours out there you can put it in the comments below! Good luck and lets not be the 92% !
