We are big fans of all things outer space in the Ziering house. Ian is friends with a couple of astronauts and has even sent his wedding band to the international space station! Mia decided it would be so much fun to have her friends over and celebrate our love of space with an At Home with the Zierings Space Party! Here is a look at all the decorations we put together for our playdate bash!
The kids were so excited about the Bookroo Giveaway! Bookroo’s mission is to enable and empower parents to build their children’s book collections in an affordable and exciting way through curated monthly book deliveries. They believe in the power and impact of the written word in the life of a child, and believe it’s never too early to start reading to children! We were so excited that they were apart of our Space theme playdate! We even read the book they sent, Even Aliens Need Snacks, during the kids snack break!
We kept the snacks simple and fun! Since it was only a play-date I didn’t want to stress with lots of food. Some healthy oranges and organic cheese puffs were the perfect snack for them!
For an out of this world activity, the Ziering girls and I created some fun Space Slime before the party! It is so easy and fun to make!
Elmers Glue- 1 regular size bottle
Liquid Tide- (colorless) 2 tbsp- may need more if sticky
(makes enough for 2 children)
Directions- Mix 1 bottle of Elmers glue with food coloring in a mixing bowl. Add glitter for a galaxy look. Slowly mix in liquid tide. You may need to add more if the slime is too sticky. Kneed with your hands until you have a fun slimy consistency. Place in jars or ziplock bags to make it last! Enjoy
We hope you enjoyed a sneak peek into our Space Themed Playdate At Home with the Zierings! Looking forward to our next bash this month, HALLOWEEN!
